All that surrounds us affects our health: from climate to food, from the organization of our cities to energy resources, and of course hospitals and the territory we live in. Factors such as technology and Internet will not be neglected: they represent a resource for doctors and patients.
The idea of health that will enliven our Festival is the result of social, environmental, economic and genetic factors, and not only the product of a bad or good health system. That is a concept of health as individual, social and economic resource.
The Festival della Salute will offer many opportunities to speak about prevention, food, medicine, ways of life, ageing, relation between energy, environment and health, politics, the Italian health system’s emergencies, economics, and ethical issues. There will also be sport, theatre and music shows and children’s entertainment. The Festival’s three days will see the participation of institutional, political and scientific personalities: such as the Italian Minister of Welfare Maurizio Sacconi, the Chairman of Fondazione Italianieuropei Massimo D’Alema, the Minister of Simplification of Legislation Roberto Calderoli, the Undersecretary of State Ferruccio Fazio, the Governor of Lombardy Roberto Formigoni, the Governor of Apulia Nichi Vendola, the Nobel Prize in Physics Carlo Rubbia, the oncologist Umberto Veronesi, the Vice President of the Senate Emma Bonino, the former Minister of Health Livia Turco. Moreover Piero Angela, Philippe Daverio and Gian Antonio Stella will attend the Festival.
On Friday, September 26th, the Festival opening day, the new trainer of the Italian football team Marcello Lippi will greet the participants.
The Festival della Salute, organized by Goodlink, has been granted the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Welfare, the Region Tuscany, the Province of Lucca and Viareggio’s municipality, and the collaboration of the World Health Organization. The Fondazione Italianieuropei has been entrusted with the scientific direction. The Chairman of the Scientific Committee is Prof. Ignazio Marino, world famous transplant surgeon and Chairman of the Italian Senate’s Health Committee during the previous parliamentary term.
The full programme of the Festival della Salute will be presented during a press conference, to be held in Rome on Tuesday 9 September.
